Birthday Gift

headband.jpgWhen I was in the Philippines for a 6-week break, I watched TV like crazy. I simply loved Kris Aquino’s shows. One thing I noticed about Kris was she’s a trendsetter. So whatever she wears and says, people follow. The time that I was there, though, she was wearing a very nice headband. I liked her headband so much. I bought one for myself before coming back to Malaysia! Hehehe.

I’m a type of person who is into this fashion jewelry thingy. And you know what… my birthday is coming soon. One of the things in my birthday wish-list is to get another nice headband for myself. It’s really an in thing now as I have seen Paris Hilton wore it too. There’s this one company that sells retails and wholesale fashion jewelry. It’s actually not so expensive and they offer a free shipping when your order is worth 50US$ or more on their products.

It’s really affordable. You can pick your own style actually, from celebrity styles to classic designs. I am into classic… so I would definitely want to have a classic style for a headband. I really hope to get one for my birthday.

Christmas Tradition

And so we have started the tradition. Had a Christmas dinner on the 25th December. Everybody had fun. We missed Ramesh and Dewi though. They were in Perlis, Dewi’s hometown for Christmas. Anyhow, we had fun. Kids’ cousins just came back straight from Terenggano so you can just imagine having four kids in the house. Our Schenker got his 4th bicycle, a Christmas gift from Amama and Achacha (grandma and grandpa) This one is really big… but of course, it still has a support wheels. He absolutely loves it. Samantha loves it too. hehehe. I think she was more excited to see the bicycle… she was running around it, and wanting to climb over it straight away. My boy, on the other hand, was studying it first, checking the wheels, turning the pedal round and round, checking the boxes in front and at the back, and appreciating the mirror in front. That’s what he was most excited about. The mirror. LOL. Have I told you I have a vain boy around? Hehehe He checked the bike thoroughly before sitting on it.

It was a very memorable and very touching Christmas. I am so glad we stayed at home. Of course, I still wanna go to Thailand. Maybe next year. We will definitely do it. In fact, we have it scheduled already! Hehehe.

Hope everybody had a Blessed Christmas… felt the presence of God during the celebration. We did. That’s why it was so special.

Now is the preparation of the coming New Year. Hmmm… looks like I’ll be busy on the 1st. Hubby’s family and relatives usually gather on that day. Since we got married, the gathering place is in our house. This year is not an exemption. So had to prepare for it.
Here’s wishing everybody a fulfilling and prosperous New Year 2008!

A Glimpse of a Different World

ireland.jpgIreland. Beautiful country with beautiful people. I have never been to Ireland but because of our very high technology and all that, I can easily take a glimpse of what’s in Ireland. I would love to go there someday, if given a chance. There are so many cheap Ireland hotels , I’ve discovered… from as low as 18 euro, you can stay in a nice 3-star hotel, with free breakfast, all in the center of Dublin. Dublin is the capital city of Ireland. A lot of people flock the city every year. Dublin Hotels are not so bad either. You can find hotels there and can even get a last minute deal. Hotels service varry from 1 to 5-star hotel, depending on your budget. I have discovered that you can actually stay in a 5 star luxury hotels from as low as 126Euro! Isn’t that great?

From Dublin, we can also visit Cork. Cork is known for it’s cultural site and from what I have read, it is the Cultural Capital of Europe. Cork Hotels are not hard to find either. And you can find a lot of cheap hotels there.

While in Ireland, you might as well visit Belfast. I have a friend who has visited Belfast. All she could tell me was the place was so nice. She even wanna go back there for another holiday. Of course, if I ever go there, I don’t know anyone who lives there so I have to stay in a hotel. You can find cheap Belfast hotels easily. Just one click at the internet and voila… they will give you all the lists ranging from budget hotels to luxury ones.

My Christmas this Year

Had another lovely and special Christmas eve. Hubby and I decided to take a joy ride around KL (Kuala Lumpur). We brought with us some tid bits and drinks… just in case we got hungry while driving.

Went pass Bintang Walk… a special request from me. I love passing by there… the place was grandly lit. It’s a tourist area.. and on a high-end one. Signature malls are all around too. We saw lots of people wearing Santa’s hat. We didn’t know that there was something going on there. So we went straight to KLCC… saw the dancing fountain, took photo of it. Good thing we reached the place at 10. They turn off the fountain at 10:15pm. We’re just in time to take photos. Me and my hobby… (yes, hobby, not hubby) hehehe.Went inside Suria KLCC. It was magnificent. They have the tallest and biggest Christmas tree. They decorated with silver and purple (which was not my cup of tea) but we took photos anyway. Then we went outside to see the dancing fountain. Lots of people hanging out there.
After we went around, we went back to Bintang Walk… this time, my camera battery was out already. Then we realized people gathered there to have a Christmas count down. So the street we were driving at was packed… So on the 12:00 of Christmas eve, we were in the car, witnessing the fun people were making (spraying artificial snow on each other) and listening to a Christmas song, “It came Upon a Midnight Clear”, something like that. It was special coz hubby and I just love joyrides. People are spraying artificial snow at our car as well… It was really fun.

I wonder if all these people really know what they’re celebrating about. We drove home at 1:00am. Had pringles and coke for Noche Buena.

We’re going to a friend’s house for Christmas lunch today. And tonight, we’re going to have Christmas dinner with hubby’s family. His other brother has two kids now too. This time, with kids around, we wanna set a tradition. Have a Christmas dinner on the 25th of December, read the Christmas Story before we eat. Open gifts after dinner. It really depends on us on how to make our Christmas celebration special. From this Christmas onwards, we make sure the kids know why we’re celebrating what.

Speaking of which, I’m just glad that Schenker knows the meaning of Christmas already… that it is Jesus’ birthday we’re celebrating. So he asked us last night whether Jesus is coming to our house today for his birthday. hehehe. Cute.

Today is Christmas… and I am blogging! LOL. I really have to go now.

Blessed Christmas!!!

Thinking of Gifts

photoblanker.jpgI’ve been talking about Christmas shopping and all that for Christmas gifts. But I have a friend who’s going to baptize her child during the holiday season. So now, I have to buy Christmas gift and a baptism gift for him, right? It’s unfair if I only buy one just for Christmas. I saw this personalized baptism gifts online and I started checking it out.

I think it is a good idea to give something that’s memorable like a personalized gift. Using the latest production technology, your favorite picture is specially dyed into a photo blanket, photo bedding, photo pillows and photo dog beds. The end result is a superb high-quality custom photo product. You won’t find a sharper, more vividly colored custom photo product than this one! They are indeed number one for photo blankets and throws!

Check it out guys. I really think it’s cute. They have somethings for dogs, too… like the photo dog bedding. I never knew dogs should have a special bedding to be comfortable until I saw this one. They really specialize in blankets, throws, duvets, and just about anything when it comes to bedding. Just send in the photos and they will customize it according to your style. Great huh?

After going thru their site, I realized you can use their products as Christmas gifts too.

Christmas Shopping

Holiday is here. It is a time of giving and receiving! With the Christmas coming fast, everybody will be thinking to buy gifts for family and friends. For those who are relying on their jobs to get salary, they have to wait for payday to be able to buy things. Most paydays are at the end of the month. So what do we do?

We borrow money from friends or family. But that would be embarrassing coz I feel it’s not right to borrow money to buy gifts. Hehehe. Also, people would be using money to spend for holidays so borrowing of money is not advisable.

Maybe get a cash advance online. With payday loans, you’re sure you’ll get your money securely. With online payday loans, you don’t have to wait for paydays to get your money. And it’s fast and safe. We can do our Christmas shopping right on time.

My Sunday

It’s a long day today. Continued with our Christmas shopping. Went to Subang Parade. But before we went there, hubby surprised me by taking the family to ikea! I love ikea… lots of nice stuff for kitchen and stuff for kids, too. Well… almost all the household stuff you can see there. I love their showrooms, but photo-taking wasn’t allowed. So I can’t show you here. We had Swedish meal for lunch. Yum!

Spent the whole afternoon there. I tell you, when you go to ikea, you will never come out empty-handed! LOL! Well, for me, at least. Bought gifts for my nephews Joshua and Joel there, and for my Schenker too. Went to Ikano also to find something for Samantha… found a nice dress there for her.
Hubby then took me to starbucks. Love their frapuccino, esp Java Chips. It has been my favorite since Phuket days.

On the way back home, we dropped by Subang Parade to finish off our Christmas shopping. Now everything’s complete. I also got some stuff for Christmas giveaways for our team’s party. Yeah, I’m gonna host the party again. I love hosting parties and dinners. Loved hosting fine dining until Samantha came. Fine dining requires very detailed preparation so when another baby came, I couldn’t do it anymore… physically and time-wise not able… Maybe when Samantha grows bigger, i can go back to it. I just love fine dining. That’s all. :P Okay, back to Subang Parade. It was a good timing when we were there coz there was a carolling show and Santa Claus went around greeting everybody, and giving candies to kids. Schenker shook hands with him; Samantha was scared. Hehehe.

We had dinner there. And yeah, we had Chicken rice if you ask me what we had. :D Went home feeling tired but accomplished.

I told you we had a long day. But a good long day at that. Hope everybody had a lovely weekend too!!!

Christmas Shopping

Finally, we started our Christmas shopping… as hubby promised to do it on Saturday, so we did. Went to Sunway Pyramid last night. But having kids in tow made our shopping a challenge. Nevertheless it was fun. Our girl enjoyed it the most, touching things here and there. She’s just very curious, always wanna have her hands on something.

Sunway Pyramid’s architectural design is Egyptian Pyramid inspired. So you can see a lot of intricate carvings, can see the huge phoenix outside the mall, too… and the roof has big domes! But… Sunway Pyramid is too huge for me to shop nowadays. Good thing we knew where to buy what. Otherwise, it will be impossible to even buy one thing. Went to Marks and Spencer’s. They have reasonable buys and bought gifts there for the 3 men (FIL and two BILs). Bought one for hubby too. Of course he knew what I bought for him already. I asked him first what he wanted for Christmas. Hehehe. Saved the headache of thinking what to give.

Will do the rest of Christmas shopping in Subang Parade. It’s easy to shop there. It’s not a big mall. So it’s not tiring to shop. And I know where to get things by heart!

Hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him I wanna have a book written by Tolkien. LOL! The title is “Children of Hurin.” Hehehe. I like all these non-fiction books, esp by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have 4 of his books already (Silmarillion, LOTR Trilogy and The Hobbit). I’m actually saving these for the kids when they grow up. It’s a nice read. And i can talk endless about these books… but back to my Christmas wish…

I so wanted this book. But I told him, it’s not worth to buy it. It’s hardbound book and it costs like $$ to buy now. So I told him of my other wish. Which is not hard to buy. (I mean not hard in the pocket). LOL!

Will go again today. We were planning to do it again after church. But we missed church today. :( too bad. We missed the Christmas program. Everytime they have programs and shows in the church, it’s like they have an international show. They actually practise for months and they can really spend for costumes and backdrops and some effects!

Okay enough rambling. Time to go shopping again…

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

My Debut

Remember the last time I told you I was thinking about making money from my blog and hubby disapproved? Guess what… He finally did, without me asking him twice. He just thought why not give it a try. Also, with a holiday season going on, we need extra cash to enjoy our holidays and merry-making. So I thought why not get paid thru one thing I’m passionate about.

The first thing I did after I got the go signal: search in the internet for some online companies that offer to pay for bloggers who wanna earn thru blogging. I found so many. But one thing that caught my eyes was this: Smorty.

While I discovered that I can sign up with Smorty to write a blog to earn, I also discovered that you can advertise product here! Smorty is a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. I am very excited as this is my first ever entry to make money. I signed up with Smorty and I found it was very easy to do so… very convenient. The opportunities to write are fast selling! I’m sure there are many bloggers who are using Smorty that are writing for advertisers.
