When my husband arrived at the hotel where he was staying, there was an amazing surprise waiting for him. His host prepared a welcome basket for him which has a welcome note, chocolates, some other sweet stuff, fruits and a phone card. He was indeed very surprised and glad, especially with the phone card. You know, when you’re away from home, you can’t help but think of the love ones behind. And you’d think of calling and checking them from time to time.
However, calling from your hand phone would be a very expensive thing to do, especially when you’re traveling international. This is where the prepaid phone cards come in handy. There are actually a lot of phone cards available. And they are cheaper compared to using your international-roaming phone.
I was actually surprised when my husband called me. I told him before he left that he didn’t need to call. We just meet online and chat. Or he could send me emails for updates. Of course, I was very happy to hear his voice and to know he was doing well in the US. It was his first time going there so we were both excited to know what’s in there. So he would call me from time to time, the phone card of which was courtesy of his host.
