small but wise

There are four things on earth that are small but unusually wise:
Ants—they aren’t strong,
but they store up food all summer.
Hyraxes—they aren’t powerful,
but they make their homes among the rocks.
Locusts—they have no king,
but they march in formation.
Lizards—they are easy to catch,
but they are found even in kings’ palaces.

Proverbs 30:24–28

Apply these characteristics of wisdom in order to any venture to become successful. Ants display foresight. They work at the proper time to prepare in the proper way for the future. Hyraxes (rock badgers, perhaps) are not themselves powerful, but they put themselves in an environment that provides the natural protection they lack. Locusts are organized, another essential for success. And lizards are fearless in choosing their environment. So to live wisely, you need foresight and planning, you should partner with those people and environments that possess what you lack, you need to be organized, and you should not let fear of your own limitations hold you back.

talking without praying

the sermon at church today was quite refreshing. although i didn’t hear everything the preacher said, but i got a bit of pieces here and there. the main thing he pointed out was our prayer life. when we have problems, we should go straight on prayer to God. sometimes, we do the talking more than praying. we share our problems to our friends, to other people or even to our psychiatrist and we could talk for hours. he reminded us that instead of talking why don’t we pray about it. 4 hours of talking versus 4 hours of praying makes a lot of difference.

i agree… sometimes, we talk more to others more than we talk to God about our cares in life. sometimes what we get from talking to others is even worse as sometimes the people we talk to misjudge us or even make conclusions without digging the real problem first. sometimes, they even offer solution.s but you know what, when we talk to God, He won’t judge us, He doesn’t have to dig the problem because He would know that even before we open our mouths and best of all, He offers the best solution!

it is indeed an encouragement to hear such message! but of course, we need to have friends to talk to. just  don’t depend on them too much.

essential oils

i am an avid user of essential oils. it has such great benefits when it comes to well-being. my number one favorite is the lavender essential oil. it helps me relax and sleep well. another thing that is good to consider if you are married is the ylang ylang essential oil. it does enhance or awaken your senses and it does help a lot with your spouse spend your cozy nights together. but of course, when using essential oils, one must be careful, especially when one is pregnant. there are quite a few essential oils that are a no-no to pregnancy. so better do your assignment and find out which ones are for who and for what before using essential oils. i go to body shop to buy my essential oils. this way, i am sure that the product i am using is not a fake or not too diluted.

Trust in the Lord

The LORD always keeps his promises;
he is gracious in all he does.
The LORD helps the fallen
and lifts those bent beneath their loads. …
The LORD is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.
The LORD is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth.
He grants the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cries for help and rescues them.

Psalm 145:13–14, 17–19

Encouragement for Today
Do you feel overwhelmed, weighed down beneath heavy burdens of too much responsibility, poor health, wayward children, or financial woes? Don’t be afraid to call on God and cry out to him for help. If the truth is that you’re in dire need of help, that’s okay—call on God. Whatever your situation is, take it to God. Trust that he’s “gracious in all he does” and “filled with kindness.” Believe that he’s close to you and will grant your deepest desires.

What Planet Should I Rule?

You Should Rule Saturn

Saturn is a mysterious planet that can rarely be seen with the naked eye.
You are perfect to rule Saturn because like its rings, you don’t always follow the rules of nature.

And like Saturn, to really be able to understand you, someone delve beyond your appearance.

You are not an easy person to befriend. However, once you enter a friendship, you’ll be a friend for life.

You think slowly but deeply. You only gain great understanding after a situation has past.

live generously

One day Elisha went to the town of Shunem. A wealthy woman lived there, and she urged him to come to her home for a meal. After that, whenever he passed that way, he would stop there for something to eat.

She said to her husband, “I am sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy man of God. Let’s build a small room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp. Then he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.”

One day Elisha returned to Shunem, and he went up to this upper room to rest. He said to his servant Gehazi, “Tell the woman from Shunem I want to speak to her.” When she appeared, Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tell her, ‘We appreciate the kind concern you have shown us. What can we do for you? Can we put in a good word for you to the king or to the commander of the army?’ ”

“No,” she replied, “my family takes good care of me.”

Later Elisha asked Gehazi, “What can we do for her?”

Gehazi replied, “She doesn’t have a son, and her husband is an old man.”

“Call her back again,” Elisha told him. When the woman returned, Elisha said to her as she stood in the doorway, “Next year at this time you will be holding a son in your arms!”

“No, my lord!” she cried. “O man of God, don’t deceive me and get my hopes up like that.”

But sure enough, the woman soon became pregnant. And at that time the following year she had a son, just as Elisha had said.

2 Kings 4:8–17

Encouragement for Today
In contrast to the poor widow with the flask of oil, this woman had everything she needed materially—but no children. She gave generously to Elisha out of her abundance, not expecting anything in return. But God delights in rewarding such generosity. Because of her gracious giving, she was blessed with the fulfillment of her deepest desire, something she had apparently given up hope of ever having—a child. Her lack of faith wasn’t an obstacle to her being blessed. Trust that God knows your deepest need. Live generously … and see what God will do to bless you.
