small but wise

There are four things on earth that are small but unusually wise:
Ants—they aren’t strong,
but they store up food all summer.
Hyraxes—they aren’t powerful,
but they make their homes among the rocks.
Locusts—they have no king,
but they march in formation.
Lizards—they are easy to catch,
but they are found even in kings’ palaces.

Proverbs 30:24–28

Apply these characteristics of wisdom in order to any venture to become successful. Ants display foresight. They work at the proper time to prepare in the proper way for the future. Hyraxes (rock badgers, perhaps) are not themselves powerful, but they put themselves in an environment that provides the natural protection they lack. Locusts are organized, another essential for success. And lizards are fearless in choosing their environment. So to live wisely, you need foresight and planning, you should partner with those people and environments that possess what you lack, you need to be organized, and you should not let fear of your own limitations hold you back.
