Joy, Peace and Security
November 7, 2008
You have given me greater joy
than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.

Encouragement for Today
The joy, peace, and security found in trusting God are greater and better than the joy that comes from having abundance. Imagine that! This Scripture acknowledges that joy does comes from abundance, but there’s an inner abundance that comes from pleasing God and trusting him. You can experience this joy despite debt, despite poor health, despite troubling circumstances. Circumstances will change—for better or worse—but God never does. That’s why we can trust him through anything.
