District 9

It’s been awhile since I and hubby didn’t go out for a movie. He’s just too busy. Our guests from Thailand left only yesterday. They were here for 5 days. I always support my husband when he does member care for some workers but it always concerns me that he would spend every single bit of his time, even sleeping at an unholy hour just to do an extra mile. I have nothing against that. In fact, I admire him for having such a heart… but I think sometimes, he does it to the detriment of his health and even relationship with his family.

But he promised to take me to the movies tonight. And if he comes home early, we could watch District 9 the movie. It is directed by Peter Jackson. One cannot miss a movie directed by this talented film director. If we can’t go tonight, I’ll just wait until it’s out in the dvd’s. It would be nice to watch it on plasma tv on one of those plasma mounts. The bigger the screen, the better, right?

Anyways, here’s the trailer of the movie District 9. Really hope to see the movie tonight.

What a Prayer

“Send out your light and your truth;
let them guide me.
Let them lead me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you live.”

—Psalm 43:3

Encouragement for Today

What a wonderful prayer! Let the imagery sink in: God sending out his light and truth, guiding us to the glorious place where God lives. Isn’t that a thumbnail image of our life on earth? We walk by God’s light (which gives us warmth and life and helps us see all that is) and by his truth (which gives us direction). Together they lead us to a glorious destination—the place where God himself lives.

Detox Kit

When my friend and I were at the cold storage to buy some stuff, I happened to glance at some boxes sitting on a shelf in a corner. And when I checked, it was a Detox Tea. Now, some of you know that I’m getting truly worried about my weight. So I grabbed one.

Later that night, I searched on the internet of the benefits of detox teas. I found that detox teas are purely for detoxifying the toxins in your body and not for losing weight. But I decided to go on because I am planning on another diet program for next month. So I thought before going on a diet, might as well have my body cleaned from toxins.

Tonight, I saw this link that talks about Detox Kits. And I further discovered that you can actually detoxify before taking some tests. I remember my sister going for a medical test. Good thing that she passed the test straight away. I think, for others to be able to pass some tests, they should at least try to get some detox kits to detoxify themselves from any toxins in their body. Not that I condone taking any toxins. Sometimes, we don’t know what type of food and drink we take in. So it’s better to be cleaned of those harmful chemicals in our body and start living a healthy lifestyle.

Another Pay-You-To-Post Company

I have been blogging and get paid for more than a year now. It’s exciting to do so because not only I could do my hobby (which is writing), I earn from it as well. You cannot believe as to how many paid-to-post companies I have applied. And I’m earning quite well.

And here’s another discovery. A new paid to post company. They are new… but as I am writing this, I put my faith them, believing that they, too will help us bloggers earn money through blogging, and at the same time, help advertisers spread the news about their products. Of course, if you happen to read this and interested in signing up, please use my referral. Hehehe. Thank you!

What Happens on December 21, 2012?

The End of the Mayan Calendar is scheduled for December 21, 2012 (give or take a year).

The date December 21, 2012 is the End of the I Ching.

There’s going to be an Astronomical alignment on 2012.

The web bot project says something big will happen on 2012.

There has been a lot of speculations on what will happen on December 21, 2012. Is it gonna be the end of the world? Or  is it an apocalypse? Or is is just going to be an ordinary, normal day?

With what has been going on in the world nowadays, economic depression, natural disasters, diseases slowly being spread worldwide, etc., one cannot help but think that the world is indeed coming to an end. There are a lot of things coming to my mind right now. I just can’t process them:

Jesus’ Second Coming
The Judgment Day
1000 Years of Freedom
The resurrection from the dead with a new body.
The rule of Jesus.

My heart beats so fast while writing this. And I hope I can process all of them in no time.

I’m sure… whatever happens on 2012, there is no fear for those whose trust is in the Lord. Jesus may come back on 2012, He may not… how are we right now? If Jesus will come today, are we ready to meet Him?

I just can’t wait to see  and join people from every tribe, nation, and language worshiping God! But right now, do we do what God commands us to do?Do we reflect His glory so that others might see Him through us? Are we doing our part?

Khabi Kushi Khabi Gham

I love Hindi movies. I have a few films I love but my favorite is Khabi Kushi Khabi Gham. It’s a great story of a family that was divided due to the son’s choice of a wife but late reconnected because of his younger brother’s doing. It’s a four-hour movie and I just rolled the 4-hour movie into a one sentence. LOL. But the essence of the story is there. There, I have learned some Indian traditions, customs, costumes (that’s when my love of wearing a sari started), and cultures. I first saw the movie in 2003. I keep showing that movie to our guests. And each time, I would sit by our guests and watch it with them as if it’s my first time watching it. LOL.

I’m not going to really delve into the story. Just want to show you what fascinated me. Yes, the car with the lambo doors! By now, you know I am crazy about cars, yeah? LOL. Anyway… that’s the first time I saw this car with the vertical door. I was impressed, of course. Who wouldn’t?

Being Kind

“Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble.
The LORD protects them
and keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity in the land
and rescues them from their enemies.
The LORD nurses them when they are sick
and restores them to health.”

—Psalm 41:1–3

Encouragement for Today

Being kind to the poor brings protection, prosperity, even renewed health. God cares intensely about the poor and is very pleased when we share his heart in this way. How can you be kind to the poor today? Do you know anyone who needs a bag of groceries, a small gift they can’t afford for themselves, or even relief from child care for a few hours? Do you sponsor a child in through a relief organization? Ask God to show you how you can extend his kindness to the poor today.

Website Re-Design

My father came with the intent of asking me to do a house plan. Apparently, they want to build a new home for himself and my mom in his own home town. They have been living in the city and just wanted to settle down in a quiet suburb. But I kind of forget how to do house plans.

But with the possibility of finding any thing online now, I was hoping to find a website that would guide you to do home plans. And not true enough, I found a website called houseplansandmore.com that would help you design your own home, even that of a luxury dream home plans. It is, indeed not impossible to be able to do it online. You just key in your details and they will give you a few results you could choose from.

It’s quite exciting. I will try and see whether my father would like to do any of these.

He’s in Control

I have been so anxious lately. There is one thing that I have desired to do and seems like I’m heading towards that direction. But I feel so anxious. Worried that this might not what God wants me to do. But today’s encouraging words has indeed encouraged me.

“But he knows where I am going.
And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
For I have stayed on God’s paths;
I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food.
But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind?
Whatever he wants to do, he does.
So he will do to me whatever he has planned.
He controls my destiny.”

—Job 23:10–14

Encouragement for Today

Job affirms his faith in God’s sovereign control. Job may not like what’s happening to him or understand it, but he has faith that God is behind it all, that God is allowing him to go through his difficulties for a purpose. Job also knows his own heart and knows that he has been faithful to follow God as well as he was able. So now all he can do is submit to God’s work and trust in God’s power and sovereign control.

Writing Reflections

I love doing reflections. I reflect every time I have a chance to do so. I would so love to write everything I reflect but the moment I turn on my computer, I would have some other things in mind to write. Apparently, my sister does the same thing. She would reflect on everything she does. Sometimes, when she washes dishes, she confessed that she would reflect on life relating to washing dishes. Funny hey? Anyways, it is always good to write our thoughts. It does improve our writing skills. This applies especially when you are in college and you need to write a lot of thesis.

But with everything available online nowadays, sometimes we don’t have to think hard on writing our theses. We just hire people to do it for us, especially when our plates are full and we are meeting deadlines. Apparently, there is annotated bibliography for websites too for those who are needing this kind of research.

Like I said, with any thing available online nowadays, life can be more convenient.
