“I waited patiently for the LORD to help me,
and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground
and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the LORD.”
—Psalm 40:1–3
Encouragement for Today
If you continue to long for an answer to prayer, wait patiently for God to act, and meanwhile, keep on praying and trusting. Keep on crying out to him. Be willing to testify of God’s goodness when he does deliver you. In fact, if you can think of times when he has helped you in the past, dwell on them now. Then—tell someone else! It’s never about you alone; it’s always about God and how he wants to bless others through you. When you recount God’s goodness to yourself and others, you are lifted up out of your pit.

When I was in high school, I was pondering on what course to take. Medical course seemed to be the best course. But why didn’t I take that course? Well, aside from the obvious (which means it’s not affordable for my parents to send me to a medical school), I always didn’t like the sight of blood. I would feel very icky even just to look at the wounds.
But I have friends who have gone into medical school and are now practicing that profession. Some of my friends are now nurses. I wonder though if they would need one of those koi mens scrubs? You can actually get those at scrubsandbeyond.com. I’m sure if you’re into nursing, you could get one of those nursing clogs as well. And while at it, you may check out their student scrubs as well. It would be good to check out their products before purchasing so you would know which one is the best product with the best price.

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
—1 Corinthians 15:58
Encouragement for Today
Do you ever get tired of doing what’s right? Let this verse encourage you. Nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. He sees, records, and rewards every effort, so keep on keeping on. His eye is upon you, his pen recording everything for future recompense.

Mom has been suffering from high blood pressure. No she’s not fat and she doesn’t have high cholesterol. I asked her the cause of her high blood pressure. She told me it’s genetic. My grandfather had a high blood pressure too. He’s gone with the Lord now but no it’s not the cause of His death.
So… my mom has been taking medicine to lower down her blood pressure. It’s been a week since she hasn’t been taking medicine, by the way, because she said she’s been feeling well. But yesterday, she felt kinda dizzy. So she had to take her medicine again.
She has to monitor her BP. In fact, she has a BP kit to check her BP everytime. I am glad though that she doesn’t need any of those Philips AEDs. Glad that she has a medicine to keep her BP normal also.
Actually she brought with her a lot of (and extra) medicine just in case. I’m glad because not sure whether they’d be available in Malaysia too if ever they need extra.

“The one thing I ask of the LORD—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.”
—Psalm 27:4–5
Encouragement for Today
Living in the “house of the LORD” means dwelling in his presence, moment by moment. When we’re in that “place” spiritually, we are kept safe from trouble. This is also the “way of the LORD” described in the Proverbs passage. Dwelling in God means protection and stability, not being disturbed by what’s happening around you. They are good words for these troubled times. Dwell in God today.

The words for today seem very selfish to me. But it is a fact. We all want to be protected, to be safe from harm. And it is very common in our prayers. “Lord please protect us, make us safe.” Sometimes we can even get so redundant. We want to be safe. In fact, if we could get term life insurance, we also get it because we want to be assured of our future.
But what is is about life that we care so much? We live as if there’s no life after death. Indeed, blessed are those whose hope in the Lord. And that whatever happens, if we truly believe in Him, we know that we will live with Him forever and ever. That’s a real confidence in the Lord.

“He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
—1 Corinthians 1:8–9
Encouragement for Today
What a marvelous assurance of God’s work! First, he will keep you strong to the end. God is always faithful to do all he says. He is the one who does it, but he invites us into partnership with his son Jesus. How wonderful is that? Have you really pondered the wonder of the fact that we are called into a life of partnership with Jesus? Ponder it today. What is God already doing in your world that he invites you to partner with him to bring about?

Hubby is coming back tomorrow. He’s gone to Phuket for work. He’s taking a team from South Africa to visit the Sea Gypsies project in the south of Thailand. He’s been away for 5 days now. I am missing him like crazy. I just thank God for hi-tech communications nowadays. We can easily get in touch with people we love, even they’re far away.
I need to do a quick house cleaning. Our ceiling fans are dusty again. Sometimes, once a week cleaning is not enough. Good thing though that my parents are here. My mom is so good with house cleaning. It’s as if she doesn’t get tired of doing housework. I can never be like her. I can only try.
Anyways, I’m gonna see hubs for a few hours only tomorrow coz in the afternoon, I’m off to Hatyai for my parents’ visa extension. Now it’s my turn to be away.

I have a friend that is so much into online contests. I think it started when she won a trip anywhere in the world. Now she’s encouraged to join online contests more. She gave me a website that offers online contests. I haven’t checked yet. Maybe when I’m done with my farm town craze, I would venture into it.
There are just so much to do online. There was one time I got hooked into eBay. It was pretty bad. But good thing I have recovered. Hehehe. Just couldn’t resist joining online auctions. There was one time I bid for a china dinner set. And I won! I’m glad I did coz that’s the one we’re using now.
Will I get into it again? Maybe. But not so soon. We have so many things to settle now before I can make another online purchase.
