The Poor…

“The poor are despised even by their neighbors,
while the rich have many ‘friends.’
It is a sin to belittle one’s neighbor;
blessed are those who help the poor.”

Proverbs 14:20–2

encouragement for today

First, there’s an observation here: Most people look down on the poor, and curry favor with the rich. Then comes the exhortation: You must be different. Do not despise the poor, as most people do. Rather, find ways to help them. God cares about the poor and blesses those who share his heart. Who are the poor in your world? How can you help them? Ask God to give you the eyes to see needs which perhaps are hidden. Then ask him to open opportunities to help.

Food Supplements

Have you heard about hgh supplements? Since I am so much into health topics now (I started dieting, by the way), I’ve been on the lookout for natural food supplements. A friend of ours introduced USANA for Peter last year, when he used to get sick easily. We thought he’s lacking immunity. He started taking the food supplement and the wonder of all wonders, it worked for him. Now, I’m looking into using it for myself as well. But everytime I take food supplements, I gain weight easily. Sigh.

Breastfeeding – Good for Teeth Formation?

When I was pregnant with my first, I was too excited about being pregnant and having a baby that I would read every book I could find about pregnancy, childbirth, and babies. It actually really helps to read books as you will be filled with knowledge. I don’t follow all of them though. I just do whatever I could, according to my convenience. The only thing I followed which was very challenging was breastfeeding the baby exclusively as long as you can. The first year of breastmilk would be the most beneficial. The second year, the nutritional value would decline… or the nutritional value won’t be enough so you have to supplement with other food. There are a lot of benefits when you breastfeed your baby. I’m a total advocate for it. Of course, there are some mothers who couldn’t do this for some reasons.

One of the benefits of breastfeeding is that there is a proper teeth formation when the baby starts growing their teeth. If this is right, our kids don’t need to wear braces or even go for dental implants Plano. Suffice to say, my kids (both of them), have a very nice teeth formation. I just wonder though if it’s really the result of breastfeeding or they just got it after their daddy’s.

There are a lot more benefits from using breastmilk as baby’s first food. And this I say, I’m truly a breastfeeding advocate.

I Wonder…

I wonder if any of people I know got a social security disability? And I wonder how much it would benefit them? With all the natural calamities nowadays, one can’t help but think of some social security or insurances.

One can’t really tell with the nature. One day it’s peaceful, the next day it’s storming. But all these didn’t just happen. It was already predicted that such times as these would happen. I’m thinking why people would still thinking of “would have beens.”

I wonder…

About Salicylic

Do you want to learn more about salicylic acid? I have an amazing information I just found out about salicylic acid. Last time, all I know is that it’s a poison and something  to avoid. LOL. Don’t blame me but that’s all I knew. But just recently, I stumbled upon a website that says salicylic can be used to treat acne. This acid is from the bark of a willow tree. And can actually exfoliate away dead skin cells. Is there side effects though? I think there are… it’s just that the product companies won’t really tell you. Just use mildly if you can, please.

Sports

My hubby loves playing sports. He used to be a State champion for Judo and a State runner for track and field. He was also part of field hockey team. Now that he has kids, he wants his children to follow after him, to love sports. One thing he wanna teach the son is to play ping pong. We should get one of those ping pong tables but I think that wouldn’t be necessary. Just use the club to play ping pong. The son now is learning how to swim because there’s swimming classes going on in his school. It’s part of their curriculum. REally hoping that the kids will love sports.

On Restoration

“Then Job replied to the LORD: . . .
‘I take back everything I said,
And I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.’
“After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: ‘I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has. So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.’ So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite did as the LORD commanded them, and the LORD accepted Job’s prayer.
“When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before!”

—Job 42:1, 6–10
view in context

Encouragement for Today

God restored (and even doubled) Job’s fortunes only after Job prayed for his friends. Perhaps that was the one thing Job needed to do to be fully healed and restored. He got right with God, but also needed to get over the bitterness toward his friends who failed him in his hour of need. Could it be that God will not prosper us until we’re right in all our relationships? And could it be that when we pray for others and seek their good, it results in our own blessing?

Malignant

Do you know of anyone having malignant Mesothelioma? I don’t know anybody I personally know but I have heard a lot of those who are working in manufacturing companies that are especially exposed to asbestos. Glad that a lot of bloggers are blogging about the dangers of too much exposure to this very harmful chemical. It helps when we are aware of certain things. It keeps our guard on.

On Repentance

“I had only heard about you before,
but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
I take back everything I said,
and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance”

—Job 42:–6

Encouragement for Today

There’s a huge difference between hearing about God and actually encountering God. Before his suffering, Job based his life on what he knew about God. And that was accurate knowledge, as the next verses show (God says Job was right in what he said about God). However, Job’s understanding was deepened by a personal encounter with God. When that happened, all Job could do was repent and acknowledge his own limitations.

College Degree

Just found out that some Christian denominations in America don’t really regard college degrees as important. But to some others, to have a degree is very important whether it is an online college degree or a traditional college degree. I can say in the Philippines, it is very important. It is not easy to get a job if you’re not a degree holder. And this is a fact. So some parents, even though they could hardly afford to survive, still send children to schools and colleges. With an unemployment rate soaring high, there’s a hard competition going around for those who are seeking jobs.
