My hubby loves playing sports. He used to be a State champion for Judo and a State runner for track and field. He was also part of field hockey team. Now that he has kids, he wants his children to follow after him, to love sports. One thing he wanna teach the son is to play ping pong. We should get one of those ping pong tables but I think that wouldn’t be necessary. Just use the club to play ping pong. The son now is learning how to swim because there’s swimming classes going on in his school. It’s part of their curriculum. REally hoping that the kids will love sports.

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009On Restoration
Friday, September 25th, 2009“Then Job replied to the LORD: . . .
‘I take back everything I said,
And I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.’
“After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: ‘I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has. So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.’ So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite did as the LORD commanded them, and the LORD accepted Job’s prayer.
“When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before!”
—Job 42:1, 6–10

Encouragement for Today
God restored (and even doubled) Job’s fortunes only after Job prayed for his friends. Perhaps that was the one thing Job needed to do to be fully healed and restored. He got right with God, but also needed to get over the bitterness toward his friends who failed him in his hour of need. Could it be that God will not prosper us until we’re right in all our relationships? And could it be that when we pray for others and seek their good, it results in our own blessing?

Malignant
Friday, September 25th, 2009Do you know of anyone having malignant Mesothelioma? I don’t know anybody I personally know but I have heard a lot of those who are working in manufacturing companies that are especially exposed to asbestos. Glad that a lot of bloggers are blogging about the dangers of too much exposure to this very harmful chemical. It helps when we are aware of certain things. It keeps our guard on.
On Repentance
Thursday, September 24th, 2009“I had only heard about you before,
but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
I take back everything I said,
and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance”
—Job 42:–6
Encouragement for Today
There’s a huge difference between hearing about God and actually encountering God. Before his suffering, Job based his life on what he knew about God. And that was accurate knowledge, as the next verses show (God says Job was right in what he said about God). However, Job’s understanding was deepened by a personal encounter with God. When that happened, all Job could do was repent and acknowledge his own limitations.

College Degree
Thursday, September 24th, 2009Just found out that some Christian denominations in America don’t really regard college degrees as important. But to some others, to have a degree is very important whether it is an online college degree or a traditional college degree. I can say in the Philippines, it is very important. It is not easy to get a job if you’re not a degree holder. And this is a fact. So some parents, even though they could hardly afford to survive, still send children to schools and colleges. With an unemployment rate soaring high, there’s a hard competition going around for those who are seeking jobs.
