Sleepy

Monday, September 21st, 2009

I am so sleepy. The funny thing is… I think I have enough sleep for the past couple of days. When I say enough sleep means I sleep 8 hours a day at least. We should be getting that much sleep in a day, right? But I am very sleepy inspite of the 8-hour sleep a day. Getting enough sleep a day is a good way to stay young. There are just so many benefits that one can get when you get enough sleep. I think it’s good for the health of the skin too. You notice that once yuo don’t get enough sleep, you tend to break out? And if you don’t take care of it, you would probably end up looking for acne treatment… which sometimes can be very price-y.

I think I’m going to doze off now. Ciao!

New TV

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

We have a new tv! Just when our tv went mad, somebody asked the hubby whether he was of need of a tv. Of course, hubby said yes straight away, of course. I like the new tv. It has a built-in antenna which allows me to watch local channels when the kids are not around. It’s not one of those plasma tvs but the screen is huge. Just last week, before coming to Melaka, I watched the Breakfast Show through NTV 7. It’s been so long since I haven’t been watching tv. Of course, I appreciate it that I don’t waste my time watching tv but sometimes it’s good to know the latest happenings around us.

He Gets the Attention

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

“If they are bound in chains
and caught up in a web of trouble,
he shows them the reason.
He shows them their sins of pride.
He gets their attention
and commands that they turn from evil. . . .
But by means of their suffering, he rescues those who suffer.
For he gets their attention through adversity.”

—Job 36:8–10, 15

Encouragement for Today

God gets our attention through adversity and suffering. When trials come upon us, the first step is to ask God to show us what we may have done to bring it about. It may not be a result of our own poor choices, pride, resentment, or any other sin. But on the other hand, it may be, and seeking to understand any responsibility on our part is the beginning of wisdom and change.

The Progress

Friday, September 11th, 2009

This is my first time going through a structured diet. I’m still on my 5th day. So far, I don’t have any complains with the food. After searching for the reviews of this diet, it lead me to the links of other diet programs that you can see online.

I found another one which I like. It’s called Jerusalem Diet. It has nothing to do with Jerusalem nor with the Jewish diet. The person who developed it just found that he gained so much weight when he was in Jerusalem and thought of going on a diet… which apparently worked. So he wrote a book about it. The diet though requires you to do exercise. If you don’t have home gyms, you can go out to the park and do exercises.

Anyways… this is a 12-day diet. So I have another 7 more days.

The Guilt

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

“Fools make fun of guilt,
but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation.”

—Proverbs 14:9

Encouragement for Today

Many people in the world decry guilt today. Nobody wants to feel guilty about anything. True, there is such a thing as false guilt, when you feel guilty for things you did not do or were not responsible for. However, there is also true guilt. Godly people understand this. The godly thing to do when we are truly guilty is to acknowledge it and seek forgiveness and reconciliation, whether it’s with God, another person, or, most often, both.
