Eternity in our Hearts

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

encouragement for today

God has made everything beautiful for its time. We each have a part to play in this. As we play that part and make our contribution, it is good to keep perspective: We are made for eternity, and we cannot see the big picture that God sees. God’s ways don’t always make sense to us because we can’t see everything. (If we could, we’d be God!) There is a God (we know this in our hearts), we are not God (though too often we try to be), … and that’s a very good thing.

Cars

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

My boy is so much into cars that he even ask if he could have a car for his birthday. LOL. He thinks it’s that easy to get a car. Hehehe. So we told him real cars are very expensive we cannot afford it. We can only afford auto accessories. LOL. Anyways… after explaining to him, he said nevermind, he could do with toy cars. So we’re buying him a toy car for his birthday. Gone are the days that he would ask for Thomas and Friends trains.

He is Final

Friday, October 16th, 2009

“And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him.”

Ecclesiastes 3:14

encouragement for today

God has a purpose for all he does, but there’s an overriding purpose we see throughout Scripture: that his special creation, human beings, would “fear” him. That is, acknowledge his rightful place in their lives, and live according to his will, not their own. He wants us to know him, not as we want him to be, but as he is. He has the final authority; his purpose will always stand. Do you fear him as you should?

Sleeping Early

Friday, October 16th, 2009

I have been trying to sleep early nowadays… to no avail. I know there are lots of benefits in sleeping early and I am sold out for it. It’s just it’s hard to do it. Perhaps it’s because I am not a morning peron. I’m a night owl. So getting to sleep early is a bit of a challenge. It sure can prevent having dark circles under eye… speaking of which… I need to check mine now.

Treatment

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Do you know of anyone who needs to be sent to a drug rehab or alcohol rehab? One thing for sure is that when a person recognizes its limits, and finally admits that he needs a treatment, it is the first step of getting better and getting our of the misery and unhealthy lifestyle.

I know of one who has lost his legal office job because he had succumbed to drugs as his way to cover up his problems. Sure, he admitted himself for a treatment. But life seems to be not the same as before. Such a pity but it’s better to get well than being drown totally by addictions.
