I Made It!

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Yey. And I thought I would be needing diet pills when I came home from a long holiday. I weighed myself when I came home. No weight gain! I made it. It must be due to the fact that we walked a lot during our holiday in the U.K. And also, we didn’t eat a lot there. Of course, we always had a hearty breakfast. Then we would always go for Subway Club sandwich for other meals, except when we met friends. :D I am just glad I didn’t gain weight during our holiday break.

Certainty

“Enjoy prosperity while you can,
but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God.
Remember that nothing is certain in this life.”

Ecclesiastes 7:14

encouragement for today

A timely verse for now! Hard times are also from God. They have a purpose: to keep us dependent and not too tied to this world. During the good times, we can be lulled into thinking that this is all there is to life. Hard times force us to reflect on ultimate realities. Or so they should.

Fond of TV?

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Are you fond of watching tv? A lot of people I know don’t watch tv a lot, especially when they have kids. They want to control what the kids watch on tv. It is true in a sense. But there are a lot of good shows on tv. It’s just a matter of controlling or managing the times when the kids do watch tv. My kids watch tv… but not so much. We didn’t want to inculcate a habit of watching too much of tv shows for them. If ever they watch tv, they have certain channels they like to watch.

We don’t have satellite tv at home but when they’re with their grandparents, they would watch tv. My son’s favorite is the animal planet. He likes to see wild animals. So when my kids come home, they would usually ask me if they could watch in our tv. The problem is… we don’t have a satellite.

I am considering the idea of getting a Direct TV. I actually stumbled upon it on the internet while surfing the web. Another thing I found was with direct Sat tv, you can get as many as 150 channels. And if you order now, they have Direct TV Packages that are very hard to say no to. Once you order, they have free shipping and free installation.
