Thinking green and being green is an absolute requirement in this age. We have to take the responsibility of taking care of our environment. We can discourage cutting trees by having a paperless office, using hand dryers instead of paper towels, using recyclable bags instead of paper bags and plastic bags, shop online instead of driving your car that emates gas, etc. There are just so many ways to stay green. All we have to do is to constantly remind ourselves, for the benefit of the future generation, our children.

Being Green
Sunday, March 21st, 2010Public Speaking
Sunday, March 21st, 2010My husband said I am different when I go up the stage and start talking. He said that I look very confident. I am glad to hear because nobody would know that I have a public speaking anxiety. I used to represent our school with my declamation talent and I would pour out my nervousness through crying in real when it I got to the part where I was required to show strong emotions. Oooppsssie.. this is one of those I don’t usually tell people… but no, you know. Sigh.
Our Apartment
Sunday, March 21st, 2010When we went to Sunway Pyramid the other day to take our guest there, we passed by Arcadia Apartment. We showed her the apartment. I told her we rented out our apartment so we can rent a house. It’s true. Living in an apartment is different when you have kids. It kind of constricts the kids’ activities, although we had a mini-playground downstairs. And the unit was too small for us. I mean it’s enough if there’s only us… but since we have people coming over and staying with us, we decided a bigger place, a house, is much much better for us. So we moved to a house not because of one of these reasons: Outer banks foreclosures. No. We just wanted a bigger place for us so when we have visitors, we can accommodate more. We’ve been living in a house for more than 3 years now and I can say, there’s no regrets we did it.
Mirror Mirror on the Wall
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010My friend and I were talking on how she didn’t really like looking at herself in the mirror. I was the opposite. When I was young, my father used to cover a cloth over our man-sized mirror everytime he knew I was coming home from school. It’s that bad huh. I used to go straight to the mirror when I went back home.
Everyday, I would check how I smiled, talked, laughed, etc. Now, I still do, but not that much anymore. I think the advantage of not looking into the mirror always is so that you don’t alway get conscious of how you look like. Sometimes, you look at the mirror and it suddenly reminds you of weight loss pills. LOL. In my friend’s case, I think it’s an advantage. It makes you worry less. And because you don’t worry much, your stress level is not that high anymore. Hmmm…
Steel Legs
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010My father-in-law has been complaining of knee and ankle pain. I guess it’s either the gout or arthritis. It has been like for a long time already. I really pity him because he cannot walk properly. He still goes for work so he has to be mobile.
Last week, he went for another consultation for his knee pain. The doctor recommended on taking something from his knee and put a substitute. But it costs something like 10,000 Malaysian Ringgits. It is quite expensive.
The lesson? When you’re young, please avoid taking too much protein. If possible, take the best joint supplement. I think it can prevent from having gout or arthritis in the future.
Sadly, most Indians eat a lot of meat. Meat is a good source of protein. I should cut back my husband’s meat intake.
