Home is where the heart is. But for you heart to be attached to a place it must be comfortable. Your house may not be grand, modern or full of priceless paintings by renaissance masters, but sharing a little bit of you into the house makes it homely and cozy. A little homemade painting can add color to your fireplace. A photograph of your children all around the house can make it seem friendly. Couches and pillows strewn all over the living room would make even strangers think of a happy family watching a movie on their Samsung HDTV. A well-used kitchen with goodies all around is nicer to look at than a kitchen that looked like it has never been used or full of fragile appliances. A home does not need to be big and expensive in order for it to look beautiful.

Thursday, July 8th, 2010Nowadays, we want everything fast. We want to have a quick weight loss program. We want a quick way to eat so we order food from fast food restos. We want a quick version of everything. And I noticed that it doesn’t help with developing patience. I am guilty of that. Things in the world can really get us away from achieving to be Christ-like…
Is this why I avoid fad diets nowadays? Maybe. I know that if I persevere, at the end of the day, I would be rewarded with something I wanna achieve.
Patience is a virtue. Now I understand why God wants us to be patient. It’s kind of worth it if we wait.
The Best
Thursday, July 8th, 2010I recently posted about my acne and how they went away by using the right product for my skin. I didn’t mention the product but one comment I got was asking me what water-based product I use. I say not all water-based products can deliver the best acne treatments. Not all water-based product can suit one type of skin. So you really have to do a lot of experimenting and risking (both money and time, I may say). It just happened that what I got 8 years ago just worked and still working for me.
But they say that as we get on with age, our skin type changes. So what works for us now might now work later, when we are older. Hmmm… I wonder then what product I would use when that happens.
Hip Hop Abs
Thursday, July 8th, 2010Last month, I downloaded some hip hop abs workouts from the internet. I really enjoyed it coz it’s a workout for the abs the hip hop way. I love dancing hip hop, that’s why. My boy has been watching me doing my workout and one day, he asked whether I could wear hip hop clothes while doing Hip Hop Abs. LOL. I don’t have those but I have workout clothes. Anyways, I stopped doing Hip Hop Abs as I thought it’s too slow to tone my abs. Now I am on Jillian Michaels. And I can see a little difference on my abs. Hope this truly works.
Research
Thursday, July 8th, 2010Academically, research is what I love doing best. I would rather pass a 6,000-word paper than to take an oral examination. Oral exams make me nervous and though I work well when I’m nervous, I don’t want to go through that kind of anxiety because I experience hallucinations during those moments.
Researching is good because you can always re-check the facts you have written and you have days to finish it. Unlike in exams where you only have hours to finish it and it has to be written legibly, which I’m not really capable of doing. Research also broadens your knowledge since you don’t only read things about your topic but also trivia like weight loss tips, or interesting things you didn’t know before like if someone smiles without crow’s feet, it’s not a genuine smile.
It also enhances your writing skills whether you write serious topics or fiction or comic strip. Researching is helpful in improving ones patience especially if you can’t find any resources relevant to your topic.
The best thing about researching is you can do it a night before deadline and still get a good grade.
