A Glimpse of Me

I have invited my friends over to come for the weekend so we could do barbecue. We ended up having a blast. My friend Jojo started singing and dancing. Along came Maria and joined him. It has been long since I didn’t have this kind of fellowship where you can just let your hair down and have fun. We laughed so hard until our stomachs ached. LOL.

I love hosting barbecue parties. It is so relaxing. There’s no need to worry if your recipe works or not. You just marinate it and put it on either electric grill or manual grill where you use charcoal to cook the meat.

Can’t wait for the next barbecue party.

Giving of Ang Pao or red envelopes in Chinese is a tradition where Chinese people give gifts to their relatives on Chinese New Year. The tradition is that only married couples give to younger siblings or relatives. The red ang paos usually have a bill inside. It doesn’t matter how much. It could be from 1 dollar to whatever-you-can afford amount. We are not Chinese but my kids receive ang paos on Chinese New Year because I have Chinese in-laws and Chinese friends.  So with this new tradition I have learned, everytime I see a site that says redenvlope.com, one thing that comes to mind is the ang pao that is given on Chinese New Year. Can’t help it. =><=

I took this shot from my garden. No, the red daisy is not from my garden. The wonderful hubs bought this flower for this month. He tries to buy me flowers once every month by the way. And this month, I got 3 red daisies. I wanted to take a shot when he gave me this flower yesterday but I was at the hospital for a night, taking care of my friend who was admitted to the hospital yesterday. Today, when I came home, the flowers looked a bit gloomy. So I took it outside and see if I could help make it look vibrant. But it didn’t.

It’s a bit shaken, the shot. Next time, I will use a tripod to stabilize my shots. I probably need to buy a shutter remote so I can just mount my camera on a tripod while I sit on one of those patio chairs while shuttering my heart away.

My kids started teething late. I was especially worried with my first because he didn’t start teething until he was 16 months old, right after I weaned him off from breastmilk. Two teeth on the upper gum started coming out first, at the same time and two on the lower gum, both at the same time as well. My girl started teething she was 9 months old. She used to suck her thumb. I didn’t really wean her off from sucking her thumb. But when she started teething, she somehow weaned herself off from thumb-sucking. Probably, she felt the pain from her teeth. They said that breastfeeding can help with a good teeth formation. Both of them do have good teeth formation but their father also have good one. So I am not sure whether the adage is true. All I know is that they won’t be needing to see charlotte cosmetic dentist soon. But I believe we still need to see a regular dentist just for a dental check up.
