Yellow Gold

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

I love gold when it is yellow. White golds don’t look good on me. So everytime the husband wanted to buy me a jewelry, he would choose the yellow over white. I don’t necessarily dislike white gold. It’s just that yellow gold looks better on me. In an Indian culture, giving gold jewelry is a natural thing to do. It’s part of their culture. It’s their life.

If you wear the Indian costume without gold accessories, you would look taboo. You know what I mean? So everytime I wear my saree or my salwal kameer costume, I would definitely wear gold accessories.

I don’t wear my gold accessories all the time. I only wear them on special occasions when family is around on that occasion. I hope that one day, they would also buy gold bullion as part of their culture to give to the wives. Hehehe. It will be a good investment for the family.

KL Tower

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

We went to see a friend to collect something and realized that you can actually see the KL Tower from their balcony.

It was such a sight to behold. Their place is indeed a photographer’s haven. She’s also into photography and I bet she won’t run out of photography subject as their place is on the 20+ floor.

While my friend and I were having a chat, my husband, who’s also a photography buff, took some photos. He also took a photo of me and my friend. I looked at the photos and I realized I may need to take some hgh because although there’s only a few years difference between my age and hers, I still looked a lot older, considering the appearance of the crow’s feet.

Anyways, I wonder what else to do with it. Maybe don’t smile that wide? LOL.

The Writing Continues

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

Like I have blogged about in my other blog, I am so in the mood to write. I guess it’s because of the caffeine in my system that keeps me awake. Or is it because I am just too excited to do my online work? Whichever the reason, I am glad that I am being productive on my awake moments. I’ll probably just take acne medication if ever they start popping out due to lack of sleep.

But really, it’s so peaceful in the house now, being my kids already in the dreamland might as well take this time to finish my work.

And so my writing continues…

Why Should We Use Home Alarm Systems?

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

I was having a conversation with a couple of my guests (for our party last Saturday) when the topic darted towards the safety (or lack thereof) here in Malaysia. It just reminded me when I was here for only a month, when I was too relax crossing the road from the church to get some breakfast with friends when suddenly, I heard the buzzing of a motorbike behind me. I thought my handbag (which I was swaying nicely while walking, by the way) just fell on the road. When I took a look, there my handbag was in another man’s hand. We were all a bit shocked with what happened, nobody could move. And oh, the hassle of applying for new cards and other else after it happened.

So from then on, I heard a lot of those things happening, even some had break-in experiences. Some would dare break into the house and steal things! That’s why, it’s always best to install Home Security Systems in each house here in Malaysia.

We do have Home Security Systems in the house but we use only when we leave. It makes a certain kind of noise everytime we pass by the security point and the alarm sound was also installed in our bedroom. It would usually wake those who are sleeping in our bedroom everytime the sound ticks off. It’s not very loud, it’s just one tiny sound. But when you’re sleeping and all it ticked, you’d be alarmed too, wouldn’t you.

There are many different kinds of Home Alarm Systems companies in Malaysia. So some would connect the alert to the police station, some would straight away connect to your phone. So when the alarm goes off, your phone would ring. And if it rings twice, it’s a signal that you have to call the cops already.

Really, one can’t be too careful, especially living in Malaysia where you don’t know who to trust.

Local TV

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

I miss watching local shows. I haven’t been watching since we moved to this house. We do have two televisions at home. The other one that has television antennas is in our room upstairs but I only turn it on during the weekends for the kids to watch. Usually, local channels would show kiddie programs on the weekends.

On the weekdays, I would use my free morning times (when the kids go to school) for my online work so I just couldn’t sit and watch tv. When they come home, I set aside for them to watch some kiddie programs on dvd but not local channels.

Now I don’t know what programs they show anymore. Maybe, one day, I’ll just take a peek on what they show. I might find a program I’d like to follow.
