Better Way to Invest in Gold

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

As my husband and I were in a jewelry shop (yes, he wanted to buy me a new pair of earrings), we asked a lot of questions to the guy selling and he gladly and willingly gave us information regarding gold investment. That’s when I learned that it’s better to invest in gold bullion or gold bar than in gold jewelry.

He showed us a gold bar in different sizes and weight. I was so happy to finally see a gold bar. And no, it’s not that big as what I used to imagine it would be. But of course, it goes by the weight too.

And so he said that if we really wanted to invest in gold, it should be in bar or bullion. He said we could actually buy the bar from them and wait until the price of the gold goes up then we could re-sell. What a good man he was, helping us see the advantage of investing in gold.

And so when my husband and I got to talk, we thought, maybe, if we have extra finances later, we could invest it in gold bars. Hah- We’re going to be rich! LOL!

To Get or not to Get?

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

To get or not to get life insurance? That is the question. You see, when I was single, Peter (my husband now), suggested I should get a life insurance of some sort. I told him I didn’t want to. And I was firm with that.

I was, until I got pregnant with my first child. I changed my mind and said yes to my husband to get an insurance. But I only got health insurance because it could cover my kids’ medical assistance. And so, no, I don’t have life insurance. I guess it’s not included in my health insurance. Not too sure. If I don’t have yet… to get or not to get a life insurance?

Big Breakfast

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

I love taking big breakfast. Whenever the hubs come home from his overseas trip, I make sure I prepare for him a hotel-like breakfast that would include half-boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, greens, wholemeal toasts, tea and juice. Sometimes though I replace the toast with pancakes. At least for him, there’s something he looks forward to when he comes home. Aside from other things, that is.

Well, yesterday was different. Because I was thinking of doing and finishing my online work, I forgot to have breakfast.  I am big on coffee but yesterday, my morning went by without coffee. Have I been taking Lipofuze that I even forgot to eat? I mean it’s not like me to forget to eat. I’m an eater. And I need coffee in the mornings.

And so when we sent Samantha for her drama class, we went for coffee and breakfast at a nearby cafe. It was a relief to have coffee after that.

And so today, I made sure I had breakfast before anything else. :D

Good morning, everyone!

Nescafe Classic

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

I just broke my coffee maker. Now I can’t brew my own coffee. Sad. I really love the taste of the brewed coffee. I still have the Vietnamese coffee my friends gave me when they came here. Also, my brother-in-law who flies internationally as his work gives me coffee from Nairobi.

Now I am back to instant coffee, Nescafe Classic. Of all the instant coffees, this is my favorite. I could fully remember the ads back when I was young about this coffee which said” Nescafe Classic, a classic taste the world enjoys. Hahaha. I wonder if they still use that tag line.

Anyways, yeah, i’m enjoying my instant coffee. It tastse just like the slimming coffee I tried a few months ago, just a bit stronger. And speaking of slimming stuff… yeah I’m still on the lookout for the best diet pills for women. Hahaha. I guess this is going to be a life-long quest.

Anyways, I think I will have to buy a coffee press soon. Although I do enjoy instant coffees, I still miss having brewed ones.

Everything RM4.99

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

We went to Parkson’s department store in Subang Parade last week. I saw one eye-catching section: Everything RM4.99. I checked on the stuff they were selling and I admit, I was kind of attracted. And so I bought quite a few items. It included an apron, food storage, food cover, nut-cracker, some chopsticks and 4 trays.

I told my husband I needed all of them and I justified that they were very cheap. Hahaha.

Anyways, this year, I kind of want to upgrade my kitchen. My apron is missing. My pot holders’ corners are burned, some of my ladles are broken.

I might go back to Ikea soon. I love their products. And I love going to Ikea. Maybe I can find some new kitchen stuff there. Who knows. I never go out of Ikea empty-handed.
