Your wedding was the wedding of the year.
Your wedding was an inspiration.
We felt so blessed in your wedding.
I almost cried at your wedding.
All these and more after we had our wedding at Cyberview Lodge Resort and Spa in Cyberjaya. Our wedding was one of a kind as we mixed both cultures and traditions in.
So we had the Philippine wedding style that has ring ceremony, Bible ceremony, cord and veil ceremonies. Then we had the Indian tradition of giving Thali (a chain with a customized pendant) to a bride from the groom’s family. Our was not one of those beautiful cubic zirconia wedding rings. It’s just an eternity ring that has a small diamond encrusted.
90% of our guests are not Filipinos so almost everyone was in awe in witnessing our wedding.
Then came the reception where we used the Western style of a Cocktail dinner. Everybody could move around and mingle around.
But what does it take to have a great wedding? I guess the preparation before the wedding was crucial. We even have a folder or organizer and list of things to do before the wedding. My husband and I love organizing things so when we did it for our wedding, we made sure that it was… errr… organised properly.
We only asked a friend to help us coordinate on the day of the wedding itself. We met a lot of friends, talked to them. asked for ideas… etc.
But what does it really to have a great wedding?
When you know that God has blessed the day…
When you know that you and your partner are God’s will for each other…
When the guests say we were so blessed at your wedding…
And when you believe that during the preparation, you not only prepare for the wedding but also for the marriage of a lifetime…
When you walk to the altar to finally tie the knot between you and your God-given partner… And your own father entrusts you to him…
and both parents are giving you blessings…
I guess it doesn’t matter what your motiff is. It doesn’t matter where you hold your wedding. It doesn’t matter how many people attend your wedding. It doesn’t matter if not 100% go according to the plan. As long as you have all the above, I say… you do have a great wedding.
