Cool T Shirts

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

I’m sure you have seen the cool shirts with prints like Marilyn Monroe’s face or Pink Floyd’s or better yet, the lyrics to your favorite song or the Bible verse that most inspire you. Letting someone else make your personalized t-shirt would be expensive so why not do it your own using a few materials and a boring t-shirt? All you need is an old plain shirt, or you can also buy a new one if you want, Iron-on transfer paper which according to my friend is found in a computer shop in Jusco’s shopping centre, and iron.

Just print your desired design on any of the laser printers available at your home or office on the iron-on transfer paper, wash your tees before printing, follow the instructions on the label and you are good to go. It’s as easy as that, you just need to look for the right materials and you’ll have cool t-shirts to wear anytime!

Making History

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

They say that history is the story of the victors; this is true to a certain extent and not in all cases. I say this because history is not said only through verbal accounts but also taken from various concrete sources like stone tablets (i.e. the Rosetta), diaries, letters, stones, dwelling places, weapons, basically anything that archeologists, historians and buffs could gather. The only drawback is that most conquerors would not think twice on burning and destroying absolutely all the records about the city they have conquered so now we do not have a complete history on some civilizations.

Even now that we have technology, multiple back-ups, records in various languages and multiple copies, destruction of evidences and documentations can still be done especially if someone has a great power and, of course, money. I hope the phrase would be proven false someday, the future certainly needs to know an untainted and unbiased account of the past.

Price of Fame

David Beckham is undoubtedly one of the most sensational celebrities on earth. Not only did he excel in football but also in another completely foreign territory, which is fashion. So not only does David collect sports trophies but also within his reach are designer items, gadgets of all kinds, access to the most prestigious sports events and even VIP passes to concert.

Well, this is a superstar’s life and somehow, he’s paying for it with his freedom and privacy. So when we think that the stars have it all, think again. They may be wishing for the things that we only take for granted.

Showing that we Care

Monday, September 5th, 2011

People are social animals; we have the need to interact with our fellow people whether in the flesh or virtually. John Donne once said that, “No man is an island entire of itself, every man is a piece of a continent, a part of a main…” and this is a reality until now, centuries after it was written. Even if we are busy and do not have the time to talk, we can still find the time to check our phones for SMS, Facebook, emails and Twitter accounts and interact with our circle of friends.

These people have become parts of our personal lives and we thank God because if there were no friends and families people cannot survive. To show our loved ones how special they are, a good idea might be to give them personalized birthday gifts or visit them in their homes to have a meal with them. It strengthens camaraderie and the heart lighter.
