A Glimpse of Me

Imagine how it is to live in a yoyofactory, or in a toy shop, or in a shopping mall or better yet, in Disneyland! Every day is a treat for you, especially if you are one of those who are still young at heart and enjoy what the kids enjoy. Actually there are people who live like this, they are the ones who work in a circus and travel with all their equipment for months.

These are both fun and very tedious; it can also get lonesome even if there are a lot of people surrounding you. So living in these places would be fun, I guess, only for a short while. In the long run, it gets tiring and very common. So let us all leave these dreams in our imagination and enjoy the life that we have.

One of the most hilarious movie I ever saw was Meet the Fockers. It’s a story of a guy with parents who are very eclectic and on the other hand, his girlfriend’s parents are very serious, ex-CIA material. Of course, nothing good would ever come out of the meeting of these two different sets of parents. The ex-CIA and the wife drove an RV to the guy’s house, they probably do not need rv loans since they are rich enough, and met the Fockers for the first time.

It was embarrassing for the guy and not only that, the girl’s father get to torture and interrogate him. And the rest, I would not spoil for those who haven’t seen. But we learn here that families can also ruin relationships, especially for those who have overbearing, over-the-top family members.

What do comes to your mind when you hear people buying jewelry at such a time as this? There are actually many people who still buy gold even with the present economic crisis. It’s because they buy jewelry or gold with a different perspective. Unlike most of properties like cars and houses where their value depreciates over time, gold and jewelry ‘s values can appreciate through the years.

People who buy gold do not think about it as an expense, but rather an investment. These could still be sold for a price double its original value when the time comes. But of course some people just collect gold for the sake of collecting them, just like many of us would collect stamps or postcards.

I guess that’s why so many people buy gold at Golden Eagle.

Yes, time has wings. It’s the last month of the year! Can you believe it? Christmas is always a pleasant time—the Christmas carols and the cool December breeze always make them special. I miss celebrating Christmas in our home country with family, though. How long has it been since I went home for the holidays? Christmas in the Philippines could be a whole month thing– but we can still make this Christmas as festive as possible.

With Christmas also comes gift-giving. Gifts don’t have to be expensive… not like I should buy a gold chain for a special friend. Maybe a basket of goodies for the family would do. It would be great to give them something that I personally made, but I don’t think I have time for that now.

Don’t you just love Christmas? Are your trees filled with Christmas presents yet? But just a reminder, Let us be reminded about the true essence of Christmas, lest we become too absorbed in the gift giving and gift receiving!
