District 9

Friday, August 28th, 2009

It’s been awhile since I and hubby didn’t go out for a movie. He’s just too busy. Our guests from Thailand left only yesterday. They were here for 5 days. I always support my husband when he does member care for some workers but it always concerns me that he would spend every single bit of his time, even sleeping at an unholy hour just to do an extra mile. I have nothing against that. In fact, I admire him for having such a heart… but I think sometimes, he does it to the detriment of his health and even relationship with his family.

But he promised to take me to the movies tonight. And if he comes home early, we could watch District 9 the movie. It is directed by Peter Jackson. One cannot miss a movie directed by this talented film director. If we can’t go tonight, I’ll just wait until it’s out in the dvd’s. It would be nice to watch it on plasma tv on one of those plasma mounts. The bigger the screen, the better, right?

Anyways, here’s the trailer of the movie District 9. Really hope to see the movie tonight.

Angelina Jolie

Friday, July 31st, 2009

angelina-jolie-1Here is one actress/artist that should be a good model in the world of show business. She’s one talented girl with a big heart for people. She’s known to be adopting children and she’s got kids her own. There’s a heresay that she wanted to adopt a kid in the Philippines but the government didn’t want her to. Not sure why. But anyways, I’m not a real fan of her acting but I like the  way she portrays herself. Unlike other artists who just flaunt their delinquent ways.

She has received three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an Academy Award. Jolie has promoted humanitarian causes throughout the world, and is noted for her work with refugees through UNHCR. She has been cited as one of the world’s most beautiful women and her off-screen life is widely reported.

Well, that’s Angelina Jolie. What about me? What do I excell at? I think I’m good with blogging. Maybe I should join my blogs in BoB Awards. Maybe I could win one of those Blog Awards.

If you think I am good in blogging and my blogs are qualified, please nominate me in the Best of Best Awards!

I Love Parties

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I love hosting parties. I like to arrange our table for dinners. I love having tea parties at home. But usually, our parties start in October every year. Schenker’s birthday is in October. Samantha’s birthday and our wedding anniversary is in November. We celebrate Christmas in December and my husband’s and my birthday in January. Once October starts, I would be very busy planning for dinners/parties.

So this October, we’re celebrating my son’s 5th birthday. He specifically asked me whether we could celebrate his birthday in Megakidz, Midvalley mall. We’re not sure though because it is expensive to hold a birthday party there. Also, it’s a school break. Not sure whether his friends will be around to attend the party. Of course, I have to think of sending party invitations so I would know how many could attend.

Schenker’s and Samantha’s birthdays are exactly one month apart. So have to prepare in advance, especially on the finance department. Then a month later, there’s Christmas. And you have to think of gifts for friends and family members. There really is a lot of things happening for us, especially on the last few months of the year.

The good thing though is… I love doing it. I love preparing for parties. I love wrapping presents. I love cooking for guests (I just hate washing dishes). I love preparing our house.

Life Light Up – Christy Nockels

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Christy Nockels (worship leader) has relseased a new album called Life Light Up. I searched for the Life Light Up song lyrics and here it is:

Life Light Up

With You, I can go anywhere
I can do anything
You are the song I bring…

With You, You are the air I breathe
‘Cause You are my everything
And I am Your offering…

I may live and I may die
Either way You’re glorified
Bless the day I give my life away!

Let my life light up like the city lights
And let it burn for You in the darkest night

In You, I can begin again
I’m part of a bigger plan
‘Cause You are the Great I Am!

In You, Your life is in my veins
And You’ve broken all my chains
‘Cause You are the God Who reigns!

My light will shine on earth
And my Father will be praised!!

Giveaways

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

I have given away a lot of things already. I didn’t wanna take the things we don’t need into our new home. I was telling my son that we have to give away some of his toys to poor children. He asked why? I told him they’re so poor they don’t have money to buy toys. He said: Mommy, I don’t want to give my toys. I asked why. He said: we better give money so they can buy new toys for themselves. LOL. So true. Why would we give them old ones, anyway? Sometimes kids have more logic than their parents.

I notice though that the more we give away things, the more we acquire more. For example, we’re giving away our cassette player but in return, I wanna buy an XBox! LOL.Last year when we went to visit friends for Chinese New Year, we had fun singing karaoke through an xbox. I’m sure my kids would love to have it too.

For the meantime, I will TRY not to accummulate things too much.
