Hubby is coming back tomorrow. He’s gone to Phuket for work. He’s taking a team from South Africa to visit the Sea Gypsies project in the south of Thailand. He’s been away for 5 days now. I am missing him like crazy. I just thank God for hi-tech communications nowadays. We can easily get in touch with people we love, even they’re far away.
I need to do a quick house cleaning. Our ceiling fans are dusty again. Sometimes, once a week cleaning is not enough. Good thing though that my parents are here. My mom is so good with house cleaning. It’s as if she doesn’t get tired of doing housework. I can never be like her. I can only try.
Anyways, I’m gonna see hubs for a few hours only tomorrow coz in the afternoon, I’m off to Hatyai for my parents’ visa extension. Now it’s my turn to be away.

I love hosting parties. I like to arrange our table for dinners. I love having tea parties at home. But usually, our parties start in October every year. Schenker’s birthday is in October. Samantha’s birthday and our wedding anniversary is in November. We celebrate Christmas in December and my husband’s and my birthday in January. Once October starts, I would be very busy planning for dinners/parties.
So this October, we’re celebrating my son’s 5th birthday. He specifically asked me whether we could celebrate his birthday in Megakidz, Midvalley mall. We’re not sure though because it is expensive to hold a birthday party there. Also, it’s a school break. Not sure whether his friends will be around to attend the party. Of course, I have to think of sending party invitations so I would know how many could attend.
Schenker’s and Samantha’s birthdays are exactly one month apart. So have to prepare in advance, especially on the finance department. Then a month later, there’s Christmas. And you have to think of gifts for friends and family members. There really is a lot of things happening for us, especially on the last few months of the year.
The good thing though is… I love doing it. I love preparing for parties. I love wrapping presents. I love cooking for guests (I just hate washing dishes). I love preparing our house.

Our neighbour’s husband is into real estate. So he knows which house is available for rent or for sale. While walking to our new house yesterday, we bumped into him. Then we found out that the house 3 houses away from us is for sale. But he said it’s hard to find people to buy that house because it is located in front of the TENAGA power house (tenaga is the electricity company in Malaysia). It is Chinese belief that it’s not good to be living in front of any electricity centers – Feng Shui wise. I didn’t know there’s such beliefs. But of course anybody can just believe whatever they want to believe. Real estate agents, of all people, should know all these so they know how to deal with people about selling or renting out a house. I wonder if the Wilmington NC real estate are aware of such beliefs. There are not a lot of Chinese there but there are a lot of people that considers Feng Shui before buying any properties.
I don’t believe in those because I know that “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”

We found some good and pretty curtains at Macy’s in Taipan. We are trying (read my lips – trying) to set up an English living room. So I chose one that’s flowery with shades of limelight, peach and summer heat. That’s our theme color by the way. It looks so sweet. I got it with 50% discount. It was so timely coz it was their last day of sale.
Hubby kept saying it was really God’s favor for us to find the curtain store at just the right time. The 2-panel window curtain was on display. It’s supposed to be on 30% only. But I wanted to get it even if it was only on display and there was no other stock. So I jokingly said, I will buy if you give me more discount. LOL. She actually gave me 50% discoun instead of just 30%. Me and my jokes work well, sometimes.
Our new house is smaller. So it;s quite easy to make it cozy. It’s a good thing that we repainted it. The house we are staying now is all-white. So it’s hard to decorate it. And we didn’t want to do a lot because it is not our own house.
But with our new house, we decided to take charge and went ahead with repainting. The owners didn’t mind. So yes, I am excited to move in to our new house with an English living room. But of course, one can’t expect too much as we have limited budget. So it won’t be that Georgian, or Victorian, or even Edwardian interior design. Just basic English design – full of flowers.

We just came back from a friend’s house. They’re giving away some furnitures. They are going back to Finland and they don’t want to take all their stuff. So they decided to just give them away. We saw what we liked and they’re reserving it for us. It is good to have some furnitures for free. No need to go to Ikea to buy new ones. I’m sure if we buy new ones, we’re going to use our credit card again. I’m scared that we will go into deep debt again… like what happened the first time we moved to a new house. Although of course there is a concept of debt consolidation to help us manage our credits, finances, etc… but still it would be nice to live a debt-free life.

Last Sunday after church, we met up with friends and had lunch at Ikea. I wanted to do a bit of canvassing at Ikea. We need to setp up the kids’ rooms, by the way. It was great going to Ikea again. It’s been ages since the last we went there…like half a year ago. My boy even noticed it. When we reached Ikea he said.. so long we didn’t come here! The children had Swedish meat balls and I had fried chicken.
We went to Dome for coffee afterwards. My girl suddenly became so active… so we decided to come home. When we reached home, hubby checked one of the tires because he felt there’s something wrong somewhere. He was right. One of the tires was punctured. Good thing nothing happened while we were driving. Thank God indeed for protection.
It’s always good if your car is insured. So whatever happens, you don’t need to spend too much fixing it. You can actually check insurance quote before getting one. It’s always wise to know which is cheaper and good value for money.

I have been moving out and in lately. I just moved my other blog from blogspot to wordpress. I spent time looking for related themes though. I’d been wanting to move all my blogs to wordpress. But I’d been too lazy to look up for some themes. But the other night, when my friend Ruby and I were chatting, out of the blue, I loved one of my blogs to wordpress and moved it to self-hosting website. It was fun looking for themes… but it was a bit tiring.
Another moving out that we are going to do is moving out of this house. For real. I have started packing, of course but I only packed the ones we’re giving away. I know it’s tiring to be moving houses. But we don’t have any choice. Our 3-year contract is going to end soon.
I know I would be needing a lot of rest. I haven’t been sleeping well lately. I wonder if the sleep number bed could help me sleep better. I wish there’s a way to try. I really need to get a good sleep before starting a heavy job of packing and relocating.

Yes. It’s 2 more months and we’re out of here. To where, I am not sure yet. Hubby seems so confident that we could find a house right before we move out. Or probably we’re hoping that the owners would continue to rent this house out to us. They are actually planning on buying a new house, a corner house this time because his mom is going to live with them. Apparently, his mom is too old to climb up and down the stairs so they’re thinking of buying a corner house so they could make an extension to accommodate her room. It would be very easy for them to do it since they have the money to do it. They’d been in Holland for a managerial job posting. So I believe they can afford to buy a new house (and probably if they want, they can afford to do aluminum fence installation as well.
Now what hubby is doing is scouting for an available corner house in USJ 18. There were a few houses we saw but some of them were already sold out. I wonder why they keep the sign board there though. I hope that they (our houseowners) would consider one of those we saw. That way, we don’t have to move out.

Tomorrow is a shopping day. We are running out of food supplies. It’s been awhile since we haven’t dorocery shopping. We have been so busy we barely have enough time to buy things. Anyways, here’s my grocery shopping list:
1. kitchen cleaning stuff
2. canned goods i.e. spaghetti sauce, sardines (my prinzy loves sardines), tuna, etc
3. pasta
4. meat (chicken, minced meat for spaghetti, beef cubes for beef stew)
5. sugar
6. if we have more time we can probably go hunt some sexy lingerie. how did this manage to come out in my grocery shopping list? LOL. it should be in my personal shopping list!
Anyways, we usually do our grocery shopping in Carrefour. It is just next to Subang Parade mall, just in case we decide to do a bit more shopping.

A few more months and we’re leaving this house. We only have a 3-year contract to stay in this house. The house owners are coming back from a job posting abroad. We were actually hoping they would extend their stay there. Unfortunately, the prefer living in Malaysia.
We are now looking at some options:
1. Move back to our apartment
2. Look for a house in the same area
3. Rent my brother-in-law’s house in Putra Heights. That house is very new… nobody has ever lived there. They bought it last year but decided not to live there because they have finally settled in their house in Bandar Parklands.
There are so many things to do. We need to decide soon. If we’re moving back to our apartment, that means, we have to sell some of our furniture now. When we moved here, I bought a lot of second hand furniture from e-bay. We even have an office furniture now in our study room. Those will have to go away too.
