Family Camping

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

We haven’t done family camping yet. And I can’t wait to do one for us. I’m sure it’s going to be really really fun. My kids love outdoors and I’m sure they will enjoy it. Camping would take a lot of preparations, I guess. You can’t just go and not prepare camping equipment, can you? So what are the things needed to go and do camping that would make it extremely fun and at the same time, safe? I found a list of things to bring from shopwiki.com.

1. tent – you have to make sure that the size is enough for the family if you’re only taking one.

2. food – make it finger food. having barbecue will make camping more interesting.

3. good hiking boots – it would be fun to go hiking too and having a comfortable hiking boots is really recommended. and if you like to run, don’t forget your trail running shoes, too. I bought a pair of rebok running shoes when I thought we were going to climb Mt. Kinabalu. I’m sure I will use it if ever we go for family camping.

4. outdoor emergency equipment – this would probably include first aid kits and emergency lights.

5. of course, it would be nicer if you have camping backpacks. You’re sure you can pack a lot because usually camping backpacks are designed in such a way that you can get lots of things inside.

I may have left out some things to prepare before going out for family camping. It would be good to check out shopwiki.com because they have a list of those things and they will tell you which shops to get them.

Marketing Strategy

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

I don’t know if it is just in Malaysia or everywhere else but businesses here nowadays usually ask customers to become members of their companies. When you register you then get your membership cards along with customers’ benefits  of having discounts.

Let me think how many membership cards we have now:

1. Toys ‘R Us

2. MPH Bookclub

3. Nando’s Restaurant (yeah my family is a member of this restaurant)

4. Body Shop

5. Parkson’s

And a few more I can’t remember.

What about you? Have any memberships lately?

Shopping Day

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Tomorrow is a shopping day. We are running out of food supplies. It’s been awhile since we haven’t dorocery shopping. We have been so busy we barely have enough time to buy things.  Anyways, here’s my grocery shopping list:

1. kitchen cleaning stuff

2. canned goods i.e. spaghetti sauce, sardines (my prinzy loves sardines), tuna, etc

3. pasta

4. meat (chicken, minced meat for spaghetti, beef cubes for beef stew)

5. sugar

6. if we have more time we can probably go hunt some sexy lingerie. how did this manage to come out in my grocery shopping list? LOL. it should be in my personal shopping list!

Anyways, we usually do our grocery shopping in Carrefour. It is just next to Subang Parade mall, just in case we decide to do a bit more shopping.

Central Market

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

We are on our way to Central Market now. When we asked the hotel receptionist of which nice places to visit in Phnom Penh, she gave us all the market places. LOL. She was probably thinking we will do a bit of shopping. But we decided to just see these places to see what they offer. They probably have this Vacheron watch I saw in the internet today. I would love to show photos… but couldn’t as of now. Maybe will upload it once I get home. The computer I am using is all Korean. And I am just keying in some keys out of my great memory. Hehehe.

As I’ve said, we’re off to the Central Market. I would love to see some Cambodian products. (Note the word see: not buy.) Weehee!

Sunway Pyramid

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

One of the things I miss doing here is going to the malls. I miss going to Ikea furniture mall… I miss going to Sunway Pyramid. Yesterday, when the kids and I were talking, I told them we were going to Sunway Pyramid the next day. So I asked them… what did they wanna do in Sunway Pyramid. My two-year old girl said: shopping! LOL. She’s only 2 and shopping is already in her vocabulary. Too much exposure from parents, I should say.

Sunyway Pyramid is a posh mall. They have a very modern POS system. Digital signage is everywhere. There’s also an ice skating rink. My boy loves going there. When I was away, hubby took my boy there for ice skating.  I love going to Marks and Spencer there. In fact, I’m planning to go there tonight. I wanna buy a couple of liquid handwash and hand lotion for our guest room. I love the Magnolia smell.

When hubby comes home, we’re going there. Can’t wait.
