Our Travels

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

I have previously blogged about our travels which are already lined up for the first half of the year. The Philippine trip was not in our plan… but I was glad to be able to go back and spend time with my sister. She’s going to the US soon and we dunno when we can see each other again. We also made a trip to Zambales to surprise my oldest sister. I haven’t seen her in 4 years! You can just imagine how shocked she was to see us right at her doorstep.

I also flew to Kota Kinabalu. I was supposed to be climbing Mt Kinabalu with hubby there but because of the delays in my passport renewal, wasn’t able to do so.

I have made other bookings for my family members as well. Looks like I’m an AirAsia fan now. I have noticed that when you book your flight by AirAsia, there’s an option to get a travel insurance. That one I always take… just in case. If probably they offer a term insurance, I would probably grab it too. Seriously.

Anyways, I have another trip coming up on Saturday. I haven’t been to this place so I am really looking forward to this trip. Will let you know of the update soon.

6-hour Bus Ride

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

victory-linerWe just came back from visiting my sister in another town. It took us 6 hours by bus to get there, and 6 hours to come back. Victory Liner buses are so efficient and I like their buses. BUt 6 hours of sitting in a bus is not easy. I am now having shoulder and back pain. Maybe I should just  buy  a shoulder pain pump. It would probably ease the pain.Right now I am resting, checking emails, writing posts for my blogs. And the pain gets worse and worse.

God’s Goodness

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

I have been feeling anxious all day long… But God, in His faithfulness, reminded me. He’s always here when we need comfort and encouragement. I am just awed at home much love and grace He bestowed on me. And sometimes, I keep forgetting… He has a way of reminding us.

I was chatting with my sister through yahoo messenger today. And she was giving me positive information on things that I need to sort out.

Thank God for my sister. I can see God’ goodness in her life as well.

She’s going to the US, by the way. Her husband applied for a petition for her and it was approved. Now she’s just waiting for her appointment for interview. So I’m sure before 2010, she’d be in US already. She’s also planning to apply for a petition for both my parents. It would be good to see them going to the US… for a break. Life has been hard for them lately, having children scattered here and there.

I think it’s normal for people (especially for those who haven’t gone to US yet) to feel that going to US is such a glamorous thing to do. You get to see a new place, a new culture… and lots of new things – that would probably include Dallas Texas hotels… if you go to that area).

Anyways… I am just pondering on God’s goodness to my sister. May she be blessed in this new journey that she’s going to… May she be abundant and prosperous in everything she does. and May God bless her and her marriage with Kuya Pikoy. Hehehe.

A Trip To Macau

Monday, December 15th, 2008

sausage-chauricoI already booked my ticket to Macau. I am going with girl-friends in April next year. I am very excited to go because I haven’t been to Macau but heard they have great architectural designs for their buildings. Macau was actually colonized by Portuguese… same with the Philippines. Heard from my friend Macau offers great Portuguese sausage (chaurico). It’s probably the same with our Philippine chorizo. Now I realize, probably we got that dish from Poruguese people when they were in the Philippines. One more thing about Macau is that there’s place like las vegas that has games and things like that. I’m not very interested with that though. I just wanna see the place and take photos.

Trip To China

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Last, a friend of ours asked us whether we wanted to go to China with him. He was going to do a backpacking trip there, visiting some friends. He stayed there for 6 years and he made a lot of friends there during that period. Now that he’s in Malaysia, he wanted to visit them again. I straight away considered going there. I looked into the internet for some cheap China hotels. It gave me a long list of hotels to stay. And since my friend was going to Beijing as well, I looked into some cheap Beijing hotels as well. It actually lead me into peeking at the cheap Shanghai hotels too.

This website offers a last minute bookings if you decide on a last minute decision. It is available 24/7 so you can do your bookings anywhere you are, at your own convenience. Isn’t advanced technology amazing? You don’t have to go out and drive to buy your airline tickets. You can do so wherever you are. Oh wait, might as well check out some cheap Hongkong hotels.
