Spending Habit
Saturday, February 23rd, 2008I had a very bad spending habit. I shopped till I dropped. Or worse, sometimes, I realized that there are things I bought which is not needed and end up not being used. Last year was the worse. I went back to the Philippines for a holiday with my family. Hubby sent me and the two kids there and he came back to Malaysia after 3 days only and I and the kids stayed on for about 6 more weeks.
That 6 weeks that we spent there was very grand… meaning I spent so much it really hurt our pockets. Not just pockets but our credit limit. I used up my credit card to the max. I thought that time that I only went back home once in a while so it was worth spending money with family and friends… only to realize later that it was too much. Way too much.
My spending was too much that until now, my hubby is still paying for my debts. I think I need to have a credit consolidation. I want to be free of debts. I don’t want to spend the rest of my year paying off debts. I want to improve my credit score. I’m sure it would be a help if I at least consolidate my credit.
Our Cars

Last month, our car insurance expired so we needed to apply for another one. Usually, we ask this trusted friend to do the reapplication year by year. He does this because hubby is always busy and no time to do this stuff. It is actually very easy to apply for auto insurance. You just need to have a time to do it.The reason why we need car insurance is so that in case of emergencies or accidents, the cost of damage will be covered. You know, it is hard to tell the future of the car. So we need to have that kind of assurance everyday that no matter what happens, there’s always somebody or something to back up when something wrong happens. We need to have some kind of secured feeling everyday wherever we go.
At ez-insurance portal, they provide that portal where you can find a range of insurance you need, may it be auto insurance quotes, home insurance, health insurance or even life insurance. You will sure get a good night’s sleep knowing that when everything is insured, you don’t need to do the worrying part. That’s why we always have to be sure that our car must always be insured, year after year.
My Bad
Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008Last December was the most trying time for us. We were so broke. Of course, nobody knew coz I made it a point to make our Christmas holidays special, with or without money. Most of our Christmas dinners were on potluck so I didn’t have to spend a lot on buying groceries for our food. I just bought some new things, small small things for our house decoration to make an ambiance for Christmas. The giveaways I prepare for each guest that come to our house was not that expensive either. I just wrapped them in a very special wrapper, which was recycled, and voila! I have created a very special Christmas Surprise for my guests.
Well, you might wanna ask me why we were so broke. Actually, throughout the year, we have used our credit cards tactlessly. By the end of the year, we have reached our credit limit and we couldn’t use any of them. Plus, there’s a lot more things we spent that even our money in the bank was used up. So the main reason of our being broke was the misuse of our credit card.
That’s why, for the new year 2008, hubby and I have resolved to be careful in our spending habit. We have learned a lesson. Expensive lesson it may be, but quite a good lesson.
